ATV Gear and Accessoties Tips and Tricks

ATV’s, are small motor vehicles with large tires used of transportation or racing across off-road terrain. All Terrain Vehicles are controlled with motorcycle hand controls. The ATV’s are a fun and exciting way to experience the wilderness, and can be a useful means of transportation in rural settings. The ATV has gained huge popularity because of its versatility. So there are many different types of ATV’s nowadays from companies such as Honda, Polaris, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Arctic Cat.There is a variety of models and varying engine sizes for the different outdoor activities like racing, hunting and camping.

So you’ve just purchased your all terrain vehicle and now need some ATV accessories. Since ATV’s have a reputation as being dangerous, thing to purchase will be protective equipment. Just like operating a motorcycle or bike, riding an ATV requires you use proper protective gear.So the very first thing should be to get a proper helmet and be sure to wear proper eye protection too. The next thing to think about is some protective clothing , so be sure to wear boots and gloves to protect your hands and feet while operating the ATV – it’s an absolute must for any rider.

Another great accessory for your ATV could be a saddle bag which will allow you to carry all your cargo while you take your ATV on hunting trips or just to have some outdoor fun. Most off-road riders will eventually get stuck in the mud or need any help . For a serious ATV rider, a winch is a necessity. The winch cable can be fastened around a nearby tree, and it will pull the vehicle toward the tree.

Racing ATVs look very different from conventional ATVs that you may see in rural areas. They are usually customized with different wheels, shocks and exhaust systems. There are many lines of 4 wheeler tires to choose from, such as the ITP ATV tire, ATV sand tire, Gator ATV tire, Maxxis ATV tire, Goodyear ATV tire, and many others. Select the right tires for your predominant environment, as there are tires for mud, sand, racing and trails. The shocks need to give enough to absorb impact with minimal speed loss and also must be must be stiff enough. The exhaust is simply made up of a more free flowing muffler and intake to move air through the engine much quicker. This altered exhaust results in more noise , but it can raise the torque of your ATV. Bumpers and skid plates protect the ATV from damage due to rough terrain or racing.

When it comes to tires, the most important attribute is the tread. Different tires have different types of tread that make the ATV appropriate for navigating different types of terrain. For those spending time in the mud, it is strongly recommended that you purchase mud tires. Mud tires also work well on different types of terrain , but due to the tire tread, the ride is not so smooth. On the other hand narrow tires tend to sink in mud, but may provide you more stability on hard packed ground.

Polaris 4 Wheeler

When you buy your first four-wheeler, there are some priorities that make a big difference to you.  If it is style and look, you get to know what your friends have and perhaps buy that so you will be riding an ATV that is “cool”.  But for many who are going to make the investment in a quality four-wheeler can be summed up in one statement.  “I want the toughest four-wheeler there is.”

It is easy to list the “big names” in ATV sales, which would include Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and others that are well known.  But when it comes to buying a four-wheeler that is clearly respected as the toughest machine in the four-wheeler line, a little known name stands out.  That name is Polaris.

The Polaris ATV is a four-wheeler that has for decades been known as the real workhorse of this classification of vehicles.  It is made to be able to withstand virtually any challenge and provide strength and power to be able to take you anywhere you need to go and do the tough jobs that many other brands of ATVs simply cannot handle.

The rise of the four-wheeler in popularity started with utility users who needed to off road to accomplish tough jobs that conventional cars and trucks could not handle.  It has been in the last couple of decades that the rest of the world have discovered the recreational and sports uses of four wheelers.  But in all classifications, the Polaris stands out as an ATV that can handle any challenge whether it is a utility vehicle or one to take an adventure lover into any terrain he wants to explore.

“Going four-wheeling”, appeals to sportsmen and women who love extreme sports and who want to throw themselves into whatever they are doing.  These kinds of enthusiasts expect the ATV they take into the wilderness to handle whatever they throw at it and roll right over any obstacles so they can enjoy their adventure with no fear that their ride will let them down.  Unlike some of the more well known makes of four wheelers, it is the Polaris that is known for being able to barrel right through muddy conditions, to stay on the move in snow or ice and to charge over fallen trees and other obstacles without a problem.

Another feature of the Polaris that makes it the workhorse ATV of the industry is its ability to handle a payload.  You can use a Polaris to drag brush or pull a car out of the mud.  It is that strong.  The Polaris four wheeler is equipped with large rear racks for carrying luggage, tools or whatever you need for your off road mission that day and the Polaris is capable of supporting hundreds of pounds of load in those racks.  Small wonder this is the ATV for people who need a solid and reliable piece of machinery to go where they need to go and be there with them to get the tough work, or the tough play, done.

Things You Should Know Before Buying 4 Wheelers Parts

A Step by Step Guide on How to Assemble Your Polaris Youth Bows

The Polaris youth bows have always boasted high standards of safety, precision and a fun way to learn archery techniques for kids. If you have got yourself one then here is a step by step method on how to assemble these youth bows.

Removing thumbscrews:

The Polaris youth bows will come with a riser and thumbscrews. You will first need to remove the thumbscrews. Once you remove the thumbscrews, you will notice that the top length is the one, which has no writing on the backside. This length is also called the Belly. Take one end of the length, which is pointing away and then align it to the riser horizontally. Take the thumbscrew and screw these two – the riser and the length one over the other. Make sure, that when you are screwing the thumbscrews into place, you ensure a firm but not too tight hold. Making it too tight will result in a faulty shooting on the youth bows.

Ideally, the grip should be just enough to hold the riser and the length in their place – that’s it!

The other side:

Take the other side of the length and then attach it to the riser in horizontal fashion. Then, using the thumbscrews attach the length and the riser of the youth bows in place. Again, make sure the hold is not too tight. You just want to be able to hold both of them in place.

Right handed and left handed youth bows

One common question many people face is whether a bow is right handed or left handed. In a right handed youth bows set you will find the tips of the bow moving away from the center and the shelf located on the left. Thus, you hold this bow in your left hand but pull it with your right hand. Hence, it is called a right handed youth bows set. In the case of a left handed bow, the shelf will be placed on the right side (from the archer’s perspective) and the string is drawn with the left hand. Thus, such a youth bows set is known as a left handed bow.

Installation of elevated rest

The elevated rest helps an archer accomplish more vane clearance and better feather while shooting. This is an optional attachment which can be bought if needed for the youth bows set. If you have bought one, then follow these instructions for installation:

- It is recommended that you use Isopropyl alcohol for this. You will not get this as part of the kit but we recommend you buy one

- Dip a small towel or paper napkin in Isopropyl alcohol and then use it to clean off any grease, dirt etc. from the portion of the youth bows set under the shelf

- Punch out the hole and then stick it to the elevated rest

- Make sure both the holes of the rest and the sticker are aligned well

- Place the rest on the place below the shelf

- Press down neatly

- That’s it – you just finished installing the elevated rest of your

Exporing Polaris Predator, One of the Better Known Atvs

Polaris is an ATV company which makes many different types of All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s) and snowmobiles. These sturdy and powerful vehicles have been designed to take on whatever terrain their owners decide to go up against, and the Polaris Predator is one of their better known ATVs.

This powerful ATV has different versions that are capable of performing differently but they all deliver the ultimate statement in power. The Polaris Predator comes in 4 versions. They are the Predator 500, Predator Troy Lee Edition, Polaris Predator 90 and the Predator 50. When you buy one of these Polaris Predator ATVs you will find that there may be a chromoly axle, which is said to be stronger than the steel axles of competitors.

You’ll also find that the brake lines are made from braided stainless steel. Since the brake lines have been made from stainless steel that has been braided you will discover that these brake lines are stronger and because of their construction method these brake lines will give you a more consistent braking.

The Polaris Predator also has a skid plate that is made from compression-molded UHMW polyethylene. This skid plate has given the Polaris Predator more protective abilities. And the shock absorbers which can be found on a Polaris predator will be the premium Fox Racing Shox. These items help propel the Polaris Predator into the forefront of racing ATVs.

These are just a few of the general abilities of the Polaris Predator that you will find. As was stated earlier each of these Polaris Predators has different specifications that allow them to perform to their peak. For the Polaris 500 which is the current favorite, you will find these types of specifications.

The engine of the Polaris is electric. It has a displacement of 499 cc’s and the engine type is a 4 stroke DOHC. To help keep the engine running in top condition there is a really good, cooling liquid. The carburetion is Mikuni 42 mm BSR.

The drivetrain is a 5 speed transmission with reverse, and will have either a manual drive shift or a drive clutch. And the Final Drive is a 520 O-ring chain. You will also find that the Polaris Predator 500 is equipped with a front Dual A-arm suspension and the rear suspension is a non-link Swing arm.

Besides these features the Polaris predator is equipped with other items and specifications which makes it the frontrunner of its field. You can’t do much better than a Polaris Predator and that’s the truth.
